Ashima completed her Master’s in Human Rights from the London School of Economics (LSE) after graduating with a degree in journalism. Over the past five years, she has been interviewing and documenting the lives of Rohingya refugees across India. In 2021, she was awarded a multimedia storytelling grant by the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati to document two riverine communities and their ways of coping with annual flooding in the state of Assam. Her work has been published in The Wire and The Thirdpole.
