(Recharge) Territories in Power
We live in environments designed for an era of energy abundance that no longer exists.
Architecture and the city rely on constant exchanges of energy and materials with their surroundings—a network of interdependencies connecting the local and global scales.
However, modernity has shaped this relationship in an extractive and centralized way.
Understanding this metabolism is key to developing new narratives and practices in architecture. What role do architects play in building more sustainable and fair energy models? Can cities not only consume but also regenerate and recharge their territories?
To explore these questions, we will be joined by three key voices:
- Landa Hernández from Paisaje Transversal, an architecture studio specializing in urban scale and regeneration, will address sustainability from an economic and environmental perspective.
- Antonio Giráldez from Bartlebooth, a platform for publishing and research, will share insights on the intersections between spatial practice, the arts, and critical thinking.
- Finally, Laura Feijóo from Ecooo, a social and solidarity-based cooperative, will offer a reflection on energy decentralization and citizen-led models of energy production and consumption.
This series of talks creates a space for reflection and debate, bringing together experts from different disciplines to analyze today’s challenges and explore alternatives that redefine architectural practice in a world in transformation.
