Join the meetMED Final Event Press Briefing in Brussels, 23 June 2025, 13.00-14.00
As the Mediterranean region faces mounting climate challenges, the need for cross-border collaboration on sustainable energy has never been more urgent. The Mitigation Enabling Energy Transition in the Mediterranean Region (meetMED II) project invites you to its Final Event in Brussels on 23–24 June 2025, marking the culmination of a multi-year effort to accelerate the energy transition across Southern Neighborhood countries.
Organized during the same week as the UfM Green Week, this event will bring together high-level stakeholders, energy experts, and local actors from Europe and the MENA region. Participants will reflect on key policy developments, showcase innovative tools, and explore the road ahead for regional cooperation on energy efficiency in buildings and appliances.

Highlights from the Agenda
Day 1 – Strategic Dialogue (by invitation only):
Roundtables with EU institutions, national energy agencies, and regional experts will address:
• Regional strategies for energy efficiency and governance
• Building-sector energy upgrades: from policy to implementation
• Empowering municipalities and preparing for meetMED III
Day 2 – Technical Session (open to all):
Experts will present actionable solutions, including:
• Tools to monitor and scale energy efficiency in buildings
• Financing the energy transition and engaging banks
• The Water–Energy Nexus and integrated policy approaches
• MEPS & Labels, scrapping campaigns, and appliance-sector strategies
A media briefing and networking lunch will open the event on Day 1, with opportunities for interviews and informal exchange. The event concludes with a light networking lunch on Day 2.
