Karishma Shelar is a Senior Programme Manager with the Rural Futures initiative at the Water, Environment, Land and Livelihoods (WELL) Labs, a new research centre based at the Institute of Financial Management and Research (IFMR) Society and Krea University.

Her work focuses on institutions, policy, finance, transitions, and adaptive governance mechanisms for agrarian systems. Karishma has also worked in landscapes of Central India’s Sidhi district, co-developing the MAPTenure platform to address the orange area land conflict in Central India for World Resources Institute (WRI). She is an alumna of the International Institute of Social Studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam, and St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
