Joep Janssen is a correspondent and urban delta expert, currently the founder of Nextblue, a community-driven platform focused on water and climate change. Since 2017, Nextblue has been bringing together researchers, activists, and journalists to publish content, produce documentaries, and offer storytelling workshops. Janssen has significant experience in Asia, having been a publicist for Vietnamese newspaper Tuoi Tre and authoring the book “Living with the Mekong.” His work includes a research trip to Bangladesh for De Correspondent, exploring Dutch efforts to combat climate threats in the region. Janssen’s background in architecture includes roles at Vo Trong Nghia Architects in Vietnam and Soeters Van Eldonk in the Netherlands. He holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from Delft University of Technology and studied at Technische Universität Berlin.
