Jean-Sébastien chose to specialize in evaluation, as it is a driver for multidisciplinary work and for experience sharing. Energy efficiency is a topic with many dimensions and already a long and rich history, both in theory and in practice. Therefore Jean-Sébastien’s work is to investigate these materials to provide insights for a better understanding of the key issues, developing innovative approaches and improving implementation, with the overall objective to make energy savings potentials a reality.

Jean-Sébastien has been doing research and studies on the evaluation of energy efficiency policies and programs for about 10 years as a research fellow at Ecole des Mines de Nantes, and now with IEECP. He holds a PhD in energy engineering from Mines ParisTech (2006). He is a board member of IEPPEC (International Energy Policy & Programme Evaluation Conference), a reviewer for several scientific journals and was co-panel leader for the monitoring & evaluation panel at the ECEEE (European Council for an Energy Efficient Economy) Summer Study in 2009 and 2015. He has published more than 20 papers in scientific journals or peer-reviewed proceedings of international conferences.
