Mr. Gaurav Gogoi is a Member of Parliament representing the Kaliabor constituency of Assam in the Lok Sabha and is the Deputy Leader of Indian National Congress (INC) in Lok Sabha.
Prior to joining politics, he worked in the development and non-profit space for ten years. After graduating from Indraprastha University in engineering, he worked in a non-profit organization which sought to impact social justice through youth citizenship action. After four years of working in rural India, he went to pursue Masters in Public Administration at New York University. During his stint in the U.S., he worked as a policy aide at the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations.
