A researcher for 40 years in energy technologies in the USA, the UK and the European Commission JRC. Participated in many EU energy projects and provided scientific support for policy making in the EU, including legislation on renewable energy and waste. Was leader of the International Energy Agency Biogas Task 37, on sustainable biogas production. He supervised many post-graduate researchers and visiting scientists and makes significant contributions to the organization of EUBCE conferences.
