Studied agricultural sciences with a specialisation in agricultural economics at University of Göttingen (Germany). Work at the Federal Research Centre for Agriculture in Braunschweig (now Thünen), Federal Ministry of Agriculture (BMEL), European Commission DG Research and since 1997 at FNR. Head of department “EU and International Cooperation” of FNR which is in charge of around 20 ongoing EU funded projects, participates in EU expert groups, represents Germany in IEA Bioenergy and IEA AMF and follows also GBEP. Actively involved in supporting the European Techology and Innovation Platform Bioenergy (ETIP Bioenergy, formerly EBTP) since 2006.
