Sanjeev K Kanchan is a known environment and sustainability professional from India with nearly two decades of progressive experience in leadership, consulting and advisory, both with non-profit and for-profit organisations. He has led several sustainable industrialisation projects for leading research & advocacy organisations in India. He has also managed senior-level positions with companies involved in real-time monitoring technology supply, data acquisition & handling services (DAHS) and environmental laboratory services. His work experience covers a wide geography including Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Africa, Australia and the USA.

Sanjeev has closely worked with various government institutions, industries, leading think tanks, research institutions and civil societies in India and overseas and trained hundreds of stakeholders. In India, he has contributed to the development of various regulatory tools including the Critically Polluted Areas (CPA) concept, Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS), Emission Trading Scheme (ETS), and new pollution norms for industrial sectors (e.g. Power, Steel, Urea, Aluminium etc.). He has also consulted for setting up an “Integrated real-time environmental monitoring system” for the NEOM in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In his areas of expertise, Sanjeev has published several books, guidelines, manuals, reports and research articles used as reference documents by the stakeholders. Some of his publications on CEMS include- Best Practices in CEM; Checklist for CEMS Implementation; CEMS- A Technical Guidance Manual; Status of Implementation of Continuous Emission Monitoring System in Coal-fired Thermal Power Plants in India; and CEMS and CEQMS Implementation in India: Inspection Manual.
